May 2020 Progress Report

May 2020 Progress Report

Sitting here, preparing to review May 2020, it just feels like a sucky month.

And this is, of course, the point of a monthly review – there was always more that happened than you can remember.

And it’s usually not as bad as you thought.

Pleasure: Adventure
Plan and take an international vacation late Q3/early Q4.
🙁🙁On hold
Being immune suppressed, I find it hard to imagine staying away overnight right now, let alone a month in a foreign country.

Though I got some stuff done.
Pleasure: Recharge
Read 78 books
🙂🙂Got through few books – romances for cheeriness, along with some Feng Shui research for another project. I’ve now read 55 books against the target of 78 • The Hook UpThe Little Book of IkigaiClassical Feng Shui for Health, Beauty & LongevityClassical Feng Shui for Romance, Sex & RelationshipsEnjoying the ShowLove, Laugh, and EatSteal Like an ArtistFeng Shui Your LifeLooking Up, Looking DownWrapped Up In YouJoey Yap’s Pure Feng ShuiKeep Going
Friendship: Friends
I love meeting new people, and as I am friendly and outgoing, I make friends easily.
😐😐Life continues online, by text and email with a long phone chat now and again. No different to normal really.

Thought about how to do a Virtual Dinner Party.
Friendship: Creatures
My creatures are happy and healthy and find my garden a haven.
😐🙂Now that I’m not letting a dog out at all hours of the day and night I don’t see as many creatures. Still, there’s the usual wild birds, along with a new family of butcher birds.
Friendship: Contribution
I share my knowledge, time, and money with those who need it.
• Develop a charitable works programme.
😐😐The same as usual, online forums and discussions.

Thought about the rain.
Beauty: body
I enjoy exercising my lean, healthy 59 kg body several times a week.
• Eat < 5g of salt and sugar per day.
• Walk 10,000 steps per day.
• Sleep 8 hours each night.
🙁
69.4 kg
🙂
68.8kg
Skin cancer removal scar is doing fairly well. Starting silicon treatment next week, so that should help with the redness.

Had to drag myself into town for some health checks. I wanted to postpone but felt the overall Covid risk of going sooner was less than the risk of postponing. And the train was mostly empty, so it seems like a good call!

Managed to get a haircut on a quiet day and feel a bit more like myself.
Beauty: garden
My garden is peaceful (lush and abundant, providing habitats, weather protection and a mystical threshold)
Q1: plan garden and start landscaping.
Q2: finish landscaping and start planting.
Q3: nurture and enjoy.
Q4: nurture and enjoy.
😐😐Foolishly accepted an offer of free mulch, and then spent a fortnight moving it. Physically and mentally exhausting, but at least the garden is well bedded down for winter.
Beauty: home
I live in a comfortable home that soothes my soul.
😐😐pfft.

Just about caught up after the mulching.
Wisdom: growth
I learn and grow every day.
• Visit a historically or culturally significant venue or event each month.
😐😐Pfft to this too.

Though I got grateful.
Wealth: time
Turn the computer off by 7 pm.
🙂🙂Doing well at getting it off most days. Almost time to drop this one off the list

May 2020 was another month of nothing much. I suppose there’ll be a few more of those before the year ends.

Though things are starting to ramp up now, so you never know.

My journal reminds me that I finished the 52-week short story challenge. I ended the year at 61 stories, and am now at 65 stories in 56 weeks, and pleased I’ve managed to keep the streak alive in the face of so many distractions.

So not that sucky of a month after all!

Restrictions are easing now that we’ve hit June, but I don’t expect much to change for me this month. Hope you are all enjoying a little rediscovered freedom, but still taking care of yourselves.
