June 2021 Progress Report

June 2021 Progress Report

June 2021. I’ve no idea how to describe June. Or where it went. Though I know I wrote a new short story a collection…

June 2021

After such a massively productive May, it feels a bit like I needed a month to recover. I started to update my end of the financial year records and set up new goals and whatnot for the new.

VirtueMayJunNotes
Beauty: body
I enjoy exercising my lean, healthy 59 kg body several times a week.
• Eat < 5g of salt and sugar per day.
• Walk 10,000 steps per day.
• Sleep 8 hours each night.
• Go vegetarian
🙂
66.6 kg
🙂
65.8 kg
Beat the 66 kg barrier!!! Last time I weighed this little was 2017 when I was eating too much chocolate and waiting for my mother to die.

All that eating and sleeping well, and daily walks are finally paying off.

Got my second Covid vaccination (one of 5% of Australians who are fully vaccinated at this time).

Beauty: garden
My garden is peaceful (lush and abundant, providing habitats, weather protection and a mystical threshold)
Q1&2: finish the plan and start landscaping/planting.
🙂🙂We had some major storms, but as we were on the “right” side of the hill, we sustained limited damage.

Our creatures are fine, but we had a pair of pink and grey galahs for a couple of days. Presumably they were blown of course.

And while I don’t have a liquidambar, I appreciated their leaves.
Beauty: home
I live in a comfortable home that soothes my soul.
😐🙁I’m starting to get annoyed by shortages getting in the way of my home improvements. So, here’s 5 Tips for Updating Your Home Without Updating It
Friendship: Friends
I love meeting new people, and as I am friendly and outgoing, I make friends easily.
• Make some local writer friends.
😐🙁I feel like I should be making more of an effort – it’s so hard to incidentally meet people these days.

I’m turning into one of those people who talk about what life was like when I was young.
Friendship: Creatures
My creatures are happy and healthy and find my garden a haven.
🙂🙂Clever Girl is happy and healthy. But I think she’s coming into her first season (eek!).

She leaves muddy footprints everywhere and I’m doing an incredible amount of towel washing and cleaning up. Can’t wait for summer!
Friendship: Contribution
I share my knowledge, time, and money with those who need it.
• Write and publish stories.
🙂🙂Published the Case Files of the Wilkinson Detective Agency – so I’m just waiting for it to trickle through to the stores. I had so much fun writing the stories, and that’s Melbourne in the background of the cover! Planning a Life Worth Living is out now too.
If you can silence your inner critic, you can achieve anything. Or just enjoy the silence.
Pleasure: Recharge
Read 104 books
😐🙂Fairly good haul this month, though I’m now 21 books behind target and starting to wonder how I managed to read so many last year!
Business Planning for Professional PublishersYour Author Business PlanThe Little Paris BookshopWhy Isn’t My Brain Working? Brain ChangerBrain MakerThe Hot Shot
Wisdom: growth
I learn and grow every day.
• Visit a historically or culturally significant venue or event each month.
🙂🙂The older I get, the less I know.

I do know I didn’t appreciate our NBN outage.
Wealth: time
Write 653,236 words to complete my first million fiction words.
😐🙂• Writing streak 49 days.
• Wrote 3 short stories.
• Wrote 23,948 words and beat my monthly target!

My productivity journal for June 2021 is typically illegible, and I haven’t added any stickers – I think as I’ve swapped where I do the writing I keep forgetting about them. I’ll need to find a pencil case and hopre Clever Girl doens’t get it into her head to eat it.

And teach myself to write again, or at the very least to slow down and write more carefully.

How did you get on in June 2021?
